Quarter News Becomes Official Media Partner
Quarter Horse News, the nation’s leading western performance horse publication, is the latest among several stellar horse industry companies to partner with the United States Team Penning Association (USTPA), the largest team penning association in North America. The company joins the American Quarter Horse Association and Coolhorse.com who were named as partners in recent months.
Named as an Official Media Partner of the USTPA, Quarter Horse News was formed as a weekly tabloid in December of 1978. Today, the business publishes a semi-monthly award winning news-magazine with more than 14,000 paid subscribers. It provides event coverage, sale statistics and other timely information for the performance horse industry.
“Quarter Horse News has already demonstrated its support of team penning and ranch sorting sports by including information about both sports in its publication,” said USTPA President Ronnie Gebauer. “This relationship will provide USTPA members with yet another avenue to receive timely information not only about team penning, but will also keep them in touch with what is happening in the horse industry. The publication ranks pretty high in readership by our members and is one of the most respected in the industry.”
Owned by Cowboy Publishing Group, a division of Morris Communications, Quarter Horse News is just one of several titles representing the horse industry. Cowboy Publishing Group includes another team penning reader favorite, Western Horseman, as well as Barrel Horse News and Women’s Pro Rodeo News.
“This is a partnership we’re looking forward to cultivating,” said Publisher Carl Mullins. “We know that team penning and ranch sorting were sports that many of our readers are interested in.”
USTPA members can receive a special rate to Quarter Horse News when they subscribe through the USTPA web site or by using the subscription form found in the USTPA official publication, Flag’s Up! Subscribers in the U.S. can purchase 24 issues for $31.95, a savings of $3 off the published rate, with Canadian subscriptions coming in at $55.95, a $4 savings.
